The proposal would offer restaurants and grocery stores up to ten-thousand dollars annually for donating prepared meals to food banks, churches, and community organizations. Supporters say it would not only help feed those in need, but also cut down on food waste.In the Capital Region, an investigation is underway after a deadly fire in Troy. Crews responded to a multi-family home on Fifth Avenue where heavy flames and smoke were already pouring from the building. Several people were taken to the hospital, and one person has died. Officials say the cause remains under investigation.Meanwhile in Albany, New York’s state budget is once again delayed. Lawmakers have now passed an eighth extender to keep the government running through May 4th. Attorneys for Lorenz Kraus are asking a judge to dismiss the indictment and exclude statements he made in a television interview.
